Introduction
In recent years, the longstanding conflict between Palestine and Israel has garnered international attention and sparked debates about its complex historical roots and current implications. In this article, we will delve into the history of the conflict, from the British Mandate era to the present day, highlighting key events and challenges. It's crucial to approach this topic with an understanding of its historical context, as well as the impact it has had on the lives of people in the region.
The Origins of the Conflict
The history of the Palestine-Israel conflict can be traced back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when the region was under British control as part of the British Mandate for Palestine. Some Jews where beginning to create some tension and terror in Britain and this was causing a great nuisance. In additional the holocaust happened in which thousands of jews died.
The Birth of Israel
In 1948, the State of Israel was officially established. This event was a turning point in the conflict's history, as Israel was founded on land that had been home to Palestinians. The establishment of Israel led to widespread displacement and refugee crises for the Palestinian population.
Ongoing Disputes and Agreements
Despite several attempts at peace agreements, the conflict has continued to persist. One key issue revolves around Israeli Illegal settlements in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, areas that were intended for Palestinian self-governance according to UN international agreements.
The Gaza and West Bank
The situation in Gaza and the West Bank is particularly dire. Palestinians living in these areas face numerous challenges, including restrictions on their movement, economic hardships, and a lack of basic services. The constant bombardments and violence from Israel has further exacerbated the humanitarian crisis.
International Concerns
The international community has expressed concern about the ongoing conflict. Humanitarian organizations and rights groups have raised alarm bells over the situation, particularly in Gaza. The United Nations has called for the provision of essential services and assistance to those affected by the conflict. The world is asking to Ceasfire now against the genocide of the Palestinians.
Economic Interests and Natural Resources
The region's natural resources, particularly natural gas, have also played a role in the conflict. Some energy companies, including BP, have been granted contracts for natural gas exploration and extraction off the coast of Gaza. This economic interest has added complexity to the situation. Perhaps the reason why many countries remain SILENT whilst witnessing the atrocities !
